JHS robotics team finishes second in World Championship

Henry M. Jackson High School’s robotics team, Team 2910 “Jack in the Bot,” finished as a finalist at the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship in Houston, Texas. The team won the Newton Division Championship and advanced to the elite Einstein Finals, where the top division winners compete for the world title.

Team 2910 led the Newton Division alliance with partners Teams 2046, 868 and 4206. The alliance went undefeated in division playoffs before advancing to the championship finals, where they earned second place overall.

The achievement came after a dramatic midseason rebuild. Following early mechanical problems with their original robot, “Blitz,” the students rebuilt the machine from the ground up in just three weeks, creating a new robot called “Re•Blitz.”

The rebuilt robot helped the team earn a spot at worlds and succeed on the international stage. Team 2910 also received the Newton Division Excellence in Engineering Award.
