Completing Running Start enrollment for Fall 2026?
Please send questions and forms to your counselor.
Please make sure you have completed Steps #1-4 below (including Running Start Agreement form), have your College ID#, and English/Math placement information ready before requesting a signature for your Running Start Enrollment Verification Form (RSEVF).
Are you a current Running Start student?
Be Prepared!! When next quarter's classes are posted, complete & email or bring your quarterly RSEVF to your JHS counselor.
It is your responsibility to plan ahead to get signatures from your counselor, & to be aware of the college deadlines, JHS school hours & holidays, summer closures, early or late start schedules, etc. Counselors need at least 2-3 school day turn around to fill out R/S forms. Busier times may take longer.
New Running Start student information:
Please watch the video, follow the steps and contact your counselor for more information.
Step #1:
Watch the Running Start Video and High School Course Options (Advanced Placement, College in the HS, Running Start) Video
Step #2:
If offered, attend a Running Start Information Session meeting with the college you plan to attend. Look over the resources provided on the college R/S webpage (they each have a lot of great info!), and reach out to them with your program specific questions, how you qualify for college level classes, deadlines & entrance requirements.
Step #3:
Apply, create a CTC account, and complete placement requirements with the college Running Start office. Each college follows their own specific rules about placement. Look at the details on the college R/S website & direct questions to the college Running Start Staff. (TIP- when creating a CTC account DO NOT use your school computer because of popup blockers)
Step #4:
Once you have been accepted to a college...
- A. Parent/Guardian and student fill out & sign the: JHS Running Start Agreement
- B. To help map out your classes, using the EPS Running Start HS / CC Equivalency Guide (this chart shows you what classes at the college cover the JHS requirements), along with the college class search (available on your Running Start college webpage)
Step #5:
When the college you plan to attend has posted their next quarter class schedule, complete the Running Start Enrollment Verification Form (RSEVF) 2025-26 and submit it to your counselor via email or in person. Make sure you enter your information, school information, and (in the lower left column) the classes/credits you wish to take. Please do not sign the form in advance. Your JHS Counselor will then fill in what the college courses equal in high school, edit, sign and return the form to you so that you can sign and submit it to the college.
Do you have a meeting with a college advisor?
To help map out your classes, make sure you bring your HS credit check and the JHS Running Start HS / CC Equivalency Guide (this chart shows you what classes at the college cover the JHS requirements)
Counselors will not be available this school year after June 20, 2025.
